DISCUSSING CONTEMPORARY SCULPTURE: With Public Art Commissioner Rebecca Heald

4 October 2022
STUDIO WEST presents an in-depth discussion on contemporary sculpture hosted by curator, commissioner and consultant, Rebecca Heald on the occasion of our current exhibition GROUND WORK

Taking the form of a walk-around discussion led by Rebecca and including some of our exhibiting artists, Alexandra Searle, Catriona Robertson, Irena Posner, Jesse Pollock, Josh C. Wright, Marian Lee, and Tom Bull, the conversation will focus on certain exhibited artworks in turn, using them as jumping off points to explore each artist's thematic and ideological concerns, their unique ways of working, and their individualised overall approaches to sculpture in the 21st century.

At the same time, the discussion will seek to celebrate these artists' practices while probing poignant questions regarding the role, expectations, limits, themes and methodologies at play in sculpture today.

Join us in the gallery on Tuesday 4 October from 6.30pm to hear the artists in conversation with Rebecca Heald.
