HYPEBAE FEATURES STUDIO WEST'S EXHIBITION, 'BRYNLEY ODU DAVIES: ARTIST PORTRAITS'.
The project began accidentally when the Covid-19 pandemic halted Davies’ career as a music photographer. During his daily lockdown walks, he began taking studio portraits of local South London-based artists he befriended. Davies shared the images on Instagram, and soon he received numerous requests from other artists, leading to this vast visual diary.
To date, the creative has photographed over 200 contemporary artists in their studios. Despite featuring established global talents, Davies’ project aims to showcase young artists equally, offering a diverse and widespread view of the U.K.’s emerging art scene. His goal is to create a truly reflective record of the many individuals who make up the U.K.’s emerging art scene, looking beyond capital cities and well-known art schools.”
